Workshop’s program and presentation:
The workshop started with a presentation of the SUCCESS project and focused on the “mussel” case study, giving context elements on the European and Italian sector and the value chain associated.
During the two roundtables, stakeholders exchanged on environmental impacts, labialisation and perspective for the sector.

The workshop has been useful to share best practices among producers but also common issues that, in different Italian regions, are resolved differently, creating strong and significant imbalances and which may involve economic damage to mussel companies. The workshop succeeded in encouraging the various stakeholders to participate dynamically in the discussion.
The workshop has helped to gain a better understanding and testimony from the producers of Cozza di SCARDOVARI DOP, the consortium of the Italian Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)
Main results :
The workshop has already produced an article that was published in the July / August 2017 issue of Eurofish Magazine (p57-58).
More specific articles and focus on processed issues and bottlenecks will be published by November-December 2017 both in international journals and in Italian magazines.
