World seafood congress 2017

10 -13 september - Reykjavik (Iceland)

What is World Seafood congress ?

The World Seafood Congress brings together a global audience of seafood processors and importers, academia, public and private organisations, fish inspectors and government and other diverse disciplines to provide them opportunities to meet, exchange, analyse and dissiminate results on seafood sector key challenges.

Initiate by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Congress is now owned by The International Association of Food Inspectors (IAFI).

What WSC2017 is dealing with ?

The focus of WSC2017 is on growth in Blue-Bioeconomy, practical approach and cutting edge research for market innovation, food safety and food integrity. There will be three pillars of the event:

- seafood innovation

- food integrity

- food safety

 

 

SUCCESS project at WSC2017

Some SUCCESS' results were presented by Bertrand Le Gallic (UBO), Yvonne Feucht (Thuenen Institute), Simon Mardle (Fishor Consulting) and Ignacio Llorente (University of Cantabria).

Sigurdir Bogason (MarkMar) as chaired with Primefish project partners a special session organised on competitivity issues. Car-Christian Schmidt (NMTT) also chaired another session on labels.

WSC 2017 was the opportunity for SUCCESS partners to meet stakeholders on the seafood sector and specially to exchange with other European project, Primefish and Discardless.
